SPAADS Story Book

I has been proposed that SPAADS produce a Story Book consisting of "story" submissions from our members. Hero stories, bailouts, moments of stark terror, funny stuff, close calls, etc! SPAADS guys have seen it all! Let's get it all together in print! Eric Mold on our 2010 Reunion Committee has offered to coordinate, consolidate and produce this project -- but he needs your help and input!

So, dust off your memory, close your eyes, drift back to the exciting days of your youth, and recall the wild, humorous, happiest, scariest, proudest moments of your Air Force days -- especially those in the mighty Sword at Chatham & 1 Air Div! Put pen to paper; type it all out; and then mail or email it to Eric!

Right now, Eric has received a number of great stories, and is organizing them into the following Categories (but this may change) :

• Cat 1 – Submissions directly related to flying the F-86 including, prangs, bale-outs, near misses and other white knuckle stuff;
• Cat 2 – Submissions relating to life on your Squadron, Wing, Base and in 1 Air Div;
• Cat 3 – Submissions about other aspects of your service in the RCAF;
• Cat 4 – Submissions about events in your life that your friends might find interesting;
• Songs – The words of those ‘special’ songs we used to sing back then.

With your help and input, Eric hopes to organize & compile your "stories" and go to press by early Summer, so that the finished product is available in Penticton for our SPAADS 2010 Reunion !

As an incentive to each contributor who gets his "story" published in the SPAADS Story Book, your SPAADS 2010 Reunion Committee will give two sets of SPAADS wine labels AND their name will be entered in a "draw" for prizes to 6 "Attendees" to be made during our 2010 Penticton Reunion (wine & stuff !)
