The Great SPAADS Golf Tournament

0800 HRS SHOTGUN START, FRIDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER, 2010

SPAADS 2010 is getting back to golf in a big way. For 2010 it will be a "Flagship " event. Rescheduling the Gala Banquet and Golf events to Friday has enabled your Committee to negotiate our SPAADS golf event at the Summerland Golf & Country Club.

Summerland is an outstanding course --- an Okanagan beauty, designed to be fun --- one of the prime golf courses in the entire Okanagan. Even though it's their high season, Summerland will be prepared to handle up to 128 of us, but need a minimum of 60 for our 0800 hrs 'shotgun' start on Friday, 10 September. It will be a great venue in which to reconnect with old friends, we haven't seen for years. Scoring will be by the Callaway System.With our early shotgun start, we should be back in the hotel at 1400 hrs. Lots of time to prep for the Gala Banquet and Dance.

John Hutt and Ernie Saunders have negotiated a great deal for us with Summerland. The fee of $85 per golfer will include:

  • Return transportation from the hotel
  • 18 holes of golf
  • Cart
  • Coffee & doughnuts prior to play
  • Drink ticket
  • Prizes

The Advance payment to Summerland was made on 1 May to meet our Player Requirement and the Shotgun-Start Reservation. The Registration & Advance Payment system has resulted in the firm "Player list" (accessed through the "hot-point" button below). So Golfers, we have a firm "GO" for our SPAADS 2010 Reunion Great Golf Tournament!

However, to maximize the number of participants, Golf Registration & Payment has now been extended until 31 July2010. So don't delay ! Register (through the long blue "hot-point" button below) and forward your cheques ASAP ! New Harmonized tax rules are still unclear, but late registrants may be required to pay extra 7% HST. The Registration form also collects data on your golf handicap, on who you wish to play with, and on transportation to the club.! Ten sets of rental clubs are available ($30 fee) if needed, but members should make such arrangements/reservations directly with the Club, well in advance of our 2010 Reunion 'shotgun' start". New Golf Registrants should forward their cheque for $85 per player (made out to "SPAADS 2010-Golf") ASAP to Garth Foley below:

Ernie & John plan to establish the 'foursomes' by the end of June. These will be published on this Reunion website (and replace our current Golf Players list), together with Transportation arrangements & a road map to keep everyone informed. So stay "tuned".
